Crush

By Janet Miracle Muin

There's a spark I can't ignore,

A feeling I can’t name,

Every time you walk through the door,

My heart plays a different game.

A glance, a smile, a fleeting word,

My thoughts race, my voice is blurred.

You don’t know the secret I keep,

A crush so deep, it makes me leap.

In crowded rooms, I find you near,

But my words disappear in fear.

I wish you'd see what’s hidden inside,

A heart that trembles, trying to hide.

I wonder if you feel the same,

If my silence speaks my name.

But until that moment arrives,

I’ll cherish this crush, alive.
