Falling into You
By Hishan Das
She is the October of my life,
the brisk autumn wind without strife,
paired with the warmth of a season's shift,
her laugh a fleeting sunset’s gift.
An October sky, glowing and bright,
full of colors but fading to night.
Her presence, like a sip of tea,
warms my core so tenderly.
Her eyes are autumn, vibrant and bold,
like tapestries woven in whispers of gold.
An unfathomable ocean, where I descend,
into their depths, I fall without end.
She grounds me where time’s lost its way,
her stillness asks that I should stay.
To surrender to her lullaby’s keep,
her song that soothes me into sleep.
Oh, how I long to keep writing of you,
but these lines, too few, won’t do.
Judge not what’s written with this pen,
but judge me when the pen transcends.
