Loyalty, Loyalty, Royalty

By Janet Miracle Muin

Loyalty, loyalty, royalty,

Nowadays, people don't even know what loyalty is,

But they act like their lawyer is.

Pretending to stand by you, but quick to dismiss,

When times get tough, they’re the first to drift.

They’ll swear they’re real, swear they’re true,

But when it counts, they’re nowhere to be viewed.

A promise here, a lie there,

Behind closed doors, they don’t seem to care.

But loyalty’s not just words in the air,

It’s showing up when no one else is there.

It’s standing tall when things get rough,

And sticking with you when times get tough.

Real loyalty don’t ask for recognition,

It’s a silent, steady, undying mission.

It’s more than just a word you throw,

It’s the heart, the truth, the love you show.

Loyalty, loyalty, royalty,

True loyalty’s rare but it’s all I see,

Not in the fakes, not in the show,

But in the ones who never let you go.
